Why online public school won’t last

I’m entering week three of online school, the best school experience I’ve ever had.

But it will end once the quarantine ends. Online lessons cancel borders, therefore potentially reducing future tax revenue. It’s not worth it for a country to educate somebody without getting anything in return.

The 19th Covid

Kellyanne Conway recently mentioned that Covid-19 was the 19th Covid. This gaffe was caused by poor naming: the disease should have been called Covid-2019.

Organic: agribusiness is changing a word’s definition

Webster 1913:

Of or pertaining to an organ or its functions, or to objects composed of organs; consisting of organs, or containing them; as, the organic structure of animals and plants; exhibiting characters peculiar to living organisms; as, organic bodies, organic life, organic remains.

Yet today one of its definitions is:

Something produced by methods that comply with practices that cycle resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity.

Let’s analyse this by looking at a specific example: apples. Every person who follows elementary nutritional precautions understands that a non-organic apple is harmful: it’s basically playdough. Some dirty sect took advantage of this and created a technicality by changing the meaning of “being organic” so only apples made in a proprietary bombastic way are considered such. I say, cut the bullshit. Any apple is organic if it’s not made out of playdough.

Using the word organic in its new “definition” is unprofessional.

Physical distancing

The world doesn’t need any social distancing. In fact, we should narrow social gaps in a world that is being divided by cults pretending to be good causes.

Standing four and a half metres from the next person in line should be called physical distancing.

Voice-controlled elevators

Elevators should support voice control. This way people will be able to select their floor without touching anything.

Alcohol-free cocktails

There are hundreds of incredible-tasting cocktails that were created after years of hard work. Why don’t bars make more money by serving alcohol-free ones?

Bread rolls

The bread roll is one of the greatest human inventions: it makes any simple ingredient that is boring by itself a proper food.

Audioguides

Audioguides in museums are a sign that the story is not being told well enough visually.
